Tips for Cleaning Hardwood Floors
To keep the hardwood floor in its peak condition, more than just having the right cordless vacuum cleaner, you also have to keep in mind the tips that will be mentioned below:
- Occasional deep cleaning is a must, not just vacuuming. You will need to use a special wood cleaner and follow the instructions from the manufacturer. After cleaning, make sure to immediately wipe any excess liquid so that it won’t penetrate on the wood.
- As much as possible, you should vacuum daily. At a minimum, do it at least once in a week. This might seem like a lot of work, but this will be a good preventive measure and will make sure that the floor remains beautiful.
- You should also wax the floor at least once a year, which will be good to keep its shine. This should not be done frequently as it also causes the floor to lose its aesthetics. Mopping, on the other hand, should be avoided.
- Vinegar may be a natural cleaner, but it is not good if you have a hardwood floor. It can dull the appearance of the floor
Prevention is better than cure. Therefore, consider using area rugs and carpets in places with high foot traffic to keep the floor clean and free from damages.
What is the best cordless vacuum cleaner you have used on hardwood floors for pet hair? I am so tired of buying these things, any ideas??
I Thinks Shark Rocket DeluxePro Ultra-Light Upright – Best Vacuum For Pet Hair on Hardwood Floors
Shark Rocket DeluxeProIf you are shopping for a light vacuum cleaner, you might want to try the Shark Rocket DeluxePro. Weighing a meager 9 pounds, this ultra-light vacuum is versatile, but its efficiency in cleaning hardwood floors gives it an edge over others. It is designed to pick up dust from hard floors and comes fitted with one easy-to-wash microfiber pad. Designed to collect pet hair, large debris and fine dust particles from laminate floors and other surfaces, this vacuum cleaner comes with an upright design, making it easy to use.
To enhance the collection of pet hair, the Shark Rocket HV323 is equipped with a Pet Multi-Tool and TruePet Motorized Brush. These tools easily pick up pet hair embedded on any surface.
It comes with bright LED lights that make it easy to spot debris on laminate flooring. This model is an improvement over the original Shark Rocket, and it features a dust cup that is twice as big for extended cleaning. If you clean often, the Shark Rocket DeluxePro might be the right choice for you thanks to its light weight and its versatility.
Can anyone recommend a good vacuum cleaner that will do both wood and laminate wood floors + rugs and carpets. They do exists right? Or is it better to get 2 separate ones?
Just need the power on button to be somewhere near the top of the appliance (hand activated) rather than at the bottom (usually done by foot) – due to one of the users having mobility issues. Velvet wheels would be nice so it doesn’t scratch the wooden floors…………or if not velvet it seriously would be nice if the vacuum didn’t actually scratch wooden floors – which is possibly a design floor on these types of models?
