A robot vacuum and mop cleaner are good for cleaning in your home or office. Most of the present market robot vacuums designed to work on hardwood floors and low to medium pile carpets but not many robots are designed to go over such high pile carpets, most of them will do fine with low pile carpets under 1/4 of an inch and up to 1/2 of an inch.
With over 10 years of research and testing vacuum cleaners from what iRobot shows with the new Roomba i7+ to Roomba S9, they are capable of going over many carpets.
Also, the Neato Robotics D7 is a great capability of climbing the higher carpets edges plus Edge Clean Master rubber blade gives you perfect cleaning of a hardwood floor without damaging it. For a carpet that is 3/4 of an inch high, these would be the recommended models. The Neato will not be a good choice for a high pile carpet.
If you have a mix of carpet and wood floor, choose a robot mop that can determine the difference. Some robot mops have mapping features, which allow you to select only certain areas to clean. Here is the list of best robot vacuum and mop for hardwood floors and carpet I hope they will help you.
Specific notes about the materials of the floors and how to use them correctly will come with the best robot vacuum and mop combinations, which will be addressed specifically in this post.

Top 11 Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo Reviews 2021
Based on the features and performance, the best robot vacuum and mop combos below are selected and currently favored by consumers, coming with the basic product details so that you can easily choose the most suitable device for your desires.
1. Shark IQ Robot Self-Empty XL RV1001AE Robotic Vacuum and Mop
The new Shark IQ RV1001AE robot vacuum self empty at half the price of the Roomba S9+ but unbeatable suction it’s picked up everything from fine debris to large debris very cleanly and successfully cleared all the hair from hardwood floors and carpet with two side brushes which robot also has a self-cleaning brush.
It is a smart navigation robot vacuum and it showed itself to be pretty smart in total home mapping, its tasks smoothly end efficiently utilizing advanced sensors data processing capabilities.
It went over a shaggy throw rug without issue. Quiet, very quiet does not interrupt watching TV like every other vacuum I have owned.
The key feature of this vacuum unit is that upon docking itself, the dock will suck up whatever the robot vacuumed. This is a neat feature because you don’t have to constantly empty the robot vacuum. It’s meant to store 30 days of dirt, but based on how much there is in your home, that may vary. For people with big houses, there’s a feature that allows the robot vacuum to clean until close to battery drain, return to base to recharge for 4 hours, then resume cleaning where it last stopped. I also recommend this product for people who own pets that shed and want to deal less with the fur on the floor.
2. Roborock S5 MAX Robot Vacuum and Mop, Self-Charging Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
For comparison, Roborock S5 max sweep and mop robot vacuum have high power were the same as the top of the line Roombas like the 980 and the i7. It cleaned exceptionally well on all of its 4 power settings. I was particularly impressed with its low power performance where I think I can say that it did better than any other robot vacuum I have ever tested in low power, especially on hard floors where robot vacuums tend to struggle on low power.
On its high power, it did better but it was very close to the same performance. Unlike so many robots vacuums its side brush does not scatter debris, also its exhaust doesn’t blow debris around, it doesn’t sound like a big deal but not scattering debris in one way or another is kind of rare.
Specialized carpet pressurization mode can automatically identify the carpet and switch to the maximum suction to clean it so on the carpet, it had the great pickup ability on all of its power settings for a deep clean carpet but still use our corded vacuums for deeper cleans.
The Roborock S5 uses a spinning invisible laser to map out your home, and it cleans in straight efficient lines while using an impressive suite of sensors to navigate around obstacles and reduce bumping into things. I also like that it incorporates edge cleaning twice into every run.
In addition to that, it also has a zone clean feature where you draw a box or multiple boxes on the map and it will go clean just that area, so if for instance you just wanted it to clean around the dining room table or the kitchen it could do that.
3. Ecovacs Deebot U2 PRO Robot Vacuum Cleaner & Mop with Hard Floor Mode
The Ecovacs Deebot U2 PRO is both a vacuum and a wet mop. Its intelligent design allows you to exchange the dustbin for a water reservoir, then select the correct function. The Deebot OZMO U2 has the ability to vacuum your carpets and mop your tile floors all in one unit. There is an XL dust bin accessory that is available if you do have dogs that shed that can hold a lot more, but this unit has a 300ml water reservoir for the mopping feature.
Just as impressive, it runs up to 110 minutes without needing to recharge. This extended runtime allows you to thoroughly clean your floor on one charge. The Ecovacs Deebot U2 PRO is a good value solely on its performance. It vacuums and wet mops, plus it can be used on most floor types as well as thin carpets.
Although the battery lasts a long time, the dustbin and water tank are only 0.3L in size. This may require you to check them often. But the robot comes with remote control, or you can manage it with the touchscreen on its body. There’s no need to connect it to your home network. It excels as a vacuum sucking up pet hair, spilled dog food, cat litter, crumbs, and other little bits.
4. iRobot Braava Jet 240 Superior Robot Mop Wet and Damp Mopping, Dry Sweeping Modes
iRobot Braava jet 240 Robot Mop is very small and tight, does a better deep clean scrubbing than M6. The Braava jet240 can do a few small rooms and then return perfectly back to the start location completely avoiding all newly learned obstacles and detect cliffs so it won’t fall downstairs.
The iRobot Braava jet 240 is a small little robot vacuum that was designed to be able to get into hard-to-reach places as under furniture. Gets into hard to reach places, including under and around toilets, into corners, and below cabinets with Maximized Edge Design gets into corners and along edges.
For cleaning, you add water or a water solution mixed to the water tank you then attach one of the three types of mopping pads either dry damp, or wet pad which the robot will automatically detect the type and then set the amount of water to use. If you’re using the damp or wet pad it will spray a little bit of water in.
Off with the pros I was really impressed with the iRobot Braava jet 240 mopping ability with wet spills, it was really good but to be honest but you need a reminder that this is not a vacuum so you need to vacuum or sweep if there’s dry debris or other stuff on the surface before using it. Simple, relatively low cost – just put it on a floor and let it mop. iRobot Braava jet 240 is ideal for bathrooms & kitchens.
5. Neato Robotics Botvac D7 Connected App-Controlled Robot Vacuum
The Neato D7 is the best robot vacuum we have tested and it might be the best robot vacuum period based on what I have seen. We were very happy with its pick up ability on hard floors and carpet. In fact, I think it’s the best results I have seen so far with debris pickup.
It cleaned edges very well with its front-mounted brush and D shaped design and it had had very good suction power and airflow. Neato’s advanced engineering is all under the hood. What you get is complete vacuuming at the touch of a button.
You can run then D7 on low power and have almost as much airflow than the Roomba on high power, which is pretty great.
As far as navigation and obstacle avoidance the Neato D7 uses invisible lasers at ground level to map out a level of your house and develop a map. We found it to be nearly flawless in the way that it navigates, I also like how it accurately circles the perimeter before starting to clean the middle.
The Neato D7 has slightly larger wheel clearance than many robot vacuums which makes it very good at not disturbing throw rugs, it also makes it very good at clearing high pile carpet.
The bin size was very big 0. 7 liters, larger than most robot vacuums at about 2.5 cups, ¾ of a cup bigger than the Roomba 980. This is an important stat because if you are scheduling cleanings when you are not at home the Robot will only clean until its bin is full so you would get a lot more out of the Neato D7.
6. iRobot Roomba s9+ (9550) Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal- Empties itself
The circular body design was effective at stopping the Roomba S9+ from getting stuck and the brushes placed right between the wheels, they could never get any closer than about 2 inches to baseboards, furniture, or doors.
Rotating edge brushes set ahead of the wheels attempted to fix this by directing debris towards the center, but as anyone who used Roombas regularly could tell you it was far from a perfect solution.
Roomba S9+ gracefully learns and maps your house. It slowly and gently bumps around and adjusts to furniture and obstructions in your home, and over time learns and adapts to the features of your house to maximize cleaning efficiency. In just the second run it was into my kitchen and cleaning everything off the tiles there.
Roomba s9+ will automatically adjust the suction depending on the floor type I did notice. After confidently mapping your floorplan, you can choose which rooms to clean based on need and traffic.
We tested its debris picked up on both hard floors and carpet the first thing to note was that it had a nice clean pick up that didn’t scatter debris. The power for a truly impressed me the most with the Roomba s9 was probably it’s carpet deep cleaning.
The Automatic Dirt Disposal empties the Roomba’s bin each time it returns to the base so you never have to empty the Roomba directly. Handles stairs and obstacles without any issue. Watch as it turns back to missed spots after seemingly moving on. Watch it sidestep open stairwells and thresholds without skipping a beat.
7. ILIFE V8s, 2-in-1 Mopping Robot Vacuum Big 750ml Dustbin
The ILIFE 8s is a newer model that also vacuums and mops your floors. It’s better at picking up pet hair because it has self-adjusting suction. It also sports a dustbin that’s more than twice the size of the one on the ILIFE V5s.
Again, this is not a Wi-Fi-connected robot. Instead, you can manage it or schedule cleaning with the included remote control and the LCD interface on its body. It will return to its base to recharge when needed.
This robot manages to clean every single inch of my house. I have it scheduled for every morning and in the past week that I’ve had it, I wake up to a spot clean house! Suction is great and the mop feature has also been very helpful with suction power — 1000Pa compared to 850Pa on the ILIFE V5S Pro.
With 6 cleaning modes, the V8s can take care of your different cleaning tasks, especially pet hair on hard surfaces. Vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping all in one, handles dirt and grime with ease, maintain gleaming hard floors including hardwood, tile, laminate, and stone.
Then, there is the 750ml dustbin with HEPA filtration. This means that not only will the robot be able to clean for longer without interruption but also gather tiny particles from the air and trap them in the dustbin making your home easy and healthy to breathe in.
8. GOOVI 1600PA Robotic Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Hairs, Hard Floor & Medium Carpet
The GOOVI 1600PA Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is well made and not so heavy. Set up was easy: install the side brushes, turn them on, and ready to clean the house. The container is large and it runs every day, you need to empty the bin every 2 days.
The GOOVI 1600PA Robotic Vacuum takes about 30 mins to clean my 800 sqt room fully. And the unit can get back to the charging station by itself.
It has 5 specific cleaning methods: auto, spot, small-space, edge, and intensive cleaning. I mostly use auto and let it run around the apartment.
The GOOVI 1600PA Robotic Vacuum isn’t ideal for uneven floors and if you want a vacuum can cleaning the carpet the Roomba 690 is much better at vacuuming on carpets and rugs than the GOOVI 1600PA Robotic Vacuum Cleaner.
9. Coredy Robot Vacuum 1400pa Max Suction Cleans Pet Fur, Hard Floor to Carpet
Cordey R500+ Robot Vacuum is the budget category in our best robot vacuum. The suction is better robot vacuum better than average for this price range under $200.
This vacuum has a low profile, meaning it has the ability to slide under furniture with ease as well as maneuver around other obstacles in your home.
The Coredy robot vacuum cleaner 1400pa was great on hardwood floors and passable on low and high pile carpets. It Auto-adjust cleaning head and two large wheels move effortlessly from a hard floor to carpets to get the mess.
On my testing, at debris pickup on both hard floors and carpets and on our high pile carpet, it was not daunted by any size debris and had a very clean run on both low and high power again better than average especially for the price on hard floors
Auto mode for general cleaning, Edge mode for sweeping along with walls, Spot mode for stubborn dirt, and max mode for intensive cleaning whenever you need. Thanks to the 2600mAh Li-ion battery, which gives you up to 120 minutes of vacuuming per charge.
10. ECOVACS DEEBOT OZMO T5 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop
Probably my favorite part is that Deebot left carpet and floors with that just-cleaned feeling. With the OZMO mopping system, DEEBOT can simultaneously vacuum and mop to remove up to 99.26% of bacteria on floors.
With carpet detection, DEEBOT automatically avoids carpets when mopping and doubles suction power while vacuuming carpets. The mopping aspect of it was a huge plus for me! I really was impressed by how it distinguished from carpet to flooring and could quickly adapt to it. It was just another added perk it helped to make my floors nice and clean.
I was seriously blown away at how smart the Deebot was. It quickly started mapping the floor it would be vacuuming/mopping every day and you can watch it live from your app. It did a wonderful job not ramming into things, being delicate, and know what was carpet vs what was hardwood flooring.
11. Roborock Robot Vacuum and Mop: 2000Pa Strong Suction, App Control, and Scheduling, Route Planning, Handles Hard Floors and Carpets
I recently got my E25 and love the way it cleans and the big dust bin, Roborock E25 has a very big dust bin at 640 ml cups, it also has a HEPA filter that attaches to the bin.
While most vacuums at this price under $250 just pinball around randomly to clean the Roborock E25 Robot Vacuum with A dual-gyro system navigates in straight efficient lines, while at the same time navigating around obstacles as well as incorporating edge cleaning in each run.
On carpet it was excellent, picking up all the debris, from fine debris to extra-large debris. We found that while it did better on max power, the difference between high, medium-low, and low were all pretty minimal, in other words, it was uncommonly good on the carpet and area rugs on all its settings.
On hard floors, it picks up all the debris. The only issue we found was that in its lowest setting it did pick it up by the end of its run and did quite well with large debris and even pet hair in silent mode. But on the plus side, all three of the other power setting proved to be more than enough power on hard floors.
Part of the reason it does so well with the pickup is that it has a pretty advanced brushroll system that adjusts to the floor height, it’s a much higher quality brush design than you typically see with Robots in this price range. Its battery life is pretty decent considering its power. Roborock claims 100 minutes on low power and that’s true.
Conclusion:
Most robot vacuum and mops can get under low furniture and can clean in corners and round edges, but if you pick up and straighten up space before starting the mop, they work best: robot mops can get stuck on small obstacles like their vacuum counterparts and can be confused in rooms filled with furniture so.
I have a 650, 880, 980, i6+, and s9+. Also Braava Jet 380t and Braava Jet 240, so lots of experience. I recommend an iRobot 960 or s9+ for pet hair. All the moppers I’ve seen are, like the Braava Jet, automated Swifters. Not useless, but not true moppers. I would personally buy a used 380t if you want a mopper. Navigation cube, no pump to clog, and large pad tank that can use cleaners.
