My apartment is all carpet except for the kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom. Want something that’ll last me and be versatile enough that when I move I won’t have to worry too much, maybe just buy an attachment or two. I have a long hair cat who sheds a lot, so a vacuum that’s going to gather the fur but also be easy to clean after having done so is a must.

What Is The Best Vacuum Cleaner To Buy in Canada?
If you have so much pet hair to pick up that a bagged vacuum is not an option. They would have to change bags constantly which is a nuisance. Here is the top 9 best vacuum cleaner to buy in Canada under $300 CAD!
iwoly V600 Vacuum Cleaner Corded Bagless Stick and Handheld Vacuum under $100 CAD
iwoly V600 Vacuum Cleaner Corded Bagless Lightweight Stick Vacuum for Hard Floor Cleaning is a great choice with a budget under $100 CAD.
One of the things I’ve found with stick vacuums is that they quickly run out of battery. This becomes quite frustrating when trying to vacuum either a large room or multiple rooms. I want to just get the vacuuming done without either having to replace the battery or recharge the entire vacuum itself. This was not an issue with the lowly V600 Vacuum since it plugs into the wall. The 16.4-foot long power cord is great because it allows me to clean an entire bedroom, living room, or kitchen.
The Iwoly V600 Vacuum is great because it is powerful! This 600W stick vacuum cleaner has 15kpa powerful suction, which makes it perfect for hard floors (like our kitchen and downstairs entryway). No need to worry about running out of battery when it’s time to clean!
Another thing that makes it great is that it is lightweight! I don’t know about you, but I do not like to lug around a heavy vacuum. At just 4.8 lbs, this 2-in-1 stick and handheld vacuum makes cleaning up easy and quick! You can carry this lightweight vacuum cleaner upstairs or between rooms with ease.
Plus, it makes it super easy to reach hard-to-clean spots such as ceilings and light fixtures. Just switch to a handheld vacuum and use the brush nozzle to clean up the keyboard and sofa or the crevice nozzle to clean up tight spaces.
This is overall a great vacuum and perfect for hard floors in the kitchen, entryway, and laundry room!
Shark navigator lift away professional NV356E Canada will is a great choice when you want the best vacuum pick up pet hair on carpet and wood floors.
The Shark NV356E employs an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology plus a HEPA filter to keep allergens out. HEPA filters trap up to 99.97 percent of pollen, dust, dust mites, and other allergens inside the unit.
Only a few vacuum cleaners can clean carpets. While any vacuum could be effective on bare floors, not all can pick up dirt from carpeted floors. The Shark Navigator NV356E is one of the few cleaners that can work on rugs, carpets, and hard floors.
Bissell 2475C Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Upright Vacuum
This vacuum is great if you have pets. It is not only a fantastic upright, but a great portable vacuum for doing stairs, furniture, cars, and even drapes and high work. It comes with wonderful attachments, long cord, and operation is very smooth. Storage on the unit is good.
Despite a few things I am not as fond of, I still really love this vacuum and find its advantages to outweigh the disadvantages and make this an excellent choice to have in the house.
Multi-surface cleaning – This is great because it’s safe and effective for use on tile, sealed wood floors, laminate, linoleum, rubber floor mats, pressed wood floors, and more. It even refreshes area rugs.
Eureka NES215A Blaze 3-in-1 Swivel Handheld & Stick Vacuum Cleaner
Eureka NES215A Blaze 3-in-1 Swivel vacuum perfect for small apartments finished basements and garages.
“During this test, I used different sized debris on tile, wood floor, and carpet. While not the best for rugs and in some cases carpets, but Eureka NES215 has an affordable corded stick vacuum is easy to use, clean, and assemble and works great on harder surfaces.”
The reason the Eureka does better than the Dirt Devil and Bissell Featherweight with larger debris is that it has a much larger gate on the front of the floor head, in fact, Eureka calls the floor head a “capture nozzle” and says in their promotional material that it is designed to be able to pick up larger debris.
Bissell 27909 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Rewind Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Bissell uprights are always great on carpet. Very efficient design so they don’t need a lot of suction. I just bought this vacuum a few days ago. I actually love this vacuum so far. I have extremely dirty pet carpets.
Tangle-Free Brush Roll actively prevents annoying hair wrap.
the brushes don’t wind the hair around the cylinder, the one-touch to empty the canister works great. The filter makes the house smell so good.
I got so many compliments on that clean refreshing smell that people think it is an air freshener. The lights make it easy to clean in tight dark places.
Eureka Mighty Mite 3670G Corded Canister Vacuum Cleaner
The Eureka 3670G is a great option for homes that have a combination of linoleum, hardwood, bare floor, and tiled surface. such as ours because it weighs just 8.6 pounds, and has a really long extension wand that has good reach, enough to reach the ceiling if your home does not have a high ceiling.
Eureka recommends this for homes with mostly bare floor surfaces because this doesn’t have any motorized brush roll, It’s not worked for pet hair and carpet.
The Eureka Mighty Mite cleaned up hard flooring real nicely. It did a good job on small and large particles. Some of the debris gets caught up in the teeth of the cleaning head, but you can just move it a little over to the side, or lift up for a second or two to get the debris. It did great on the edge of the hard floor.
Attachments there is a two-way tool that has an upholstery brush and a stair brush. It’s pretty small, but it does a decent job. The crevice tool is nice. These three tools are all stored on the back of the vacuum. The hose is very long, so you can reach all the way to the top of the ceiling. You have over 12 feet of reach with this canister vacuum. This is a great canister vacuum for the price.
Hoover Pet Max Complete Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner, UH74110
If you live in a relatively big house, then undoubtedly you would preferably dread the idea of needing to bring about or drag a large Hoover vacuum.
The HOOVER Pet Max Complete makes it easy to stay on top of pet hair cleanup. Designed for optimal pet hair removal on any floor type and above-floor surfaces, this vacuum has everything you need to get a clean home with less stress.
My previous vacuum did not suck up all of the fine hairs or dust. This does a great job with all surfaces. Gets down deep in the carpets. I also love that the hose is long and the vacuum stays upright while using it.
I love the PET TOOL KIT attachments that come with this vacuum. They are improved and really do help with getting into tight spaces to get hair and dust.
The canister is a perfect size and I can vacuum the entire house prior to emptying. It’s not too heavy and can be carried upstairs after easily using the detachable wand to vacuum stairs. We seem to get a ton of pet hair on the stairs and this makes it so easy to clean.
ILIFE V8s, 2-in-1 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mopping, 750ml Big Dustbin, LCD Display, Schedule Function, Strong Suction Power, Ideal for Pet Hair, Hard Floor to Medium Pile Carpet
It comes with a 500ml water tank which is generous for a robot vacuum this size but the mop is on the small side so this will not cover a large area. The large dustbin holds a lot of debris, which means less time spent emptying it. Rather than having a large brush roller like many robot vacs, the V8s have a large intake nozzle and two side brushes that help sweep dirt into it.
This helps prevent tangling from hair and cables, etc, but it also makes the V8s much better on hard floors than carpet. You could probably get a decent suction on very low profile carpet, but nothing higher than that.
Don’t expect this robot to clean soiled surfaces because it just drags the mop on the floor. On relatively clean surfaces it should do pretty well if you want to apply the disinfecting solution on the floor.
This will work well on sealed surfaces like and linoleum.
Our verdict of the iLife V8s Robot Vacuum: For hard floors, it’s the best budget robot cleaner we’ve tried yet, with a large dust box and smarter navigation. There are better models for carpets though, and the utility of the mopping feature will depend on your circumstances.
eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S (Slim), Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Super-Thin, 1300Pa Strong Suction, Quiet, Self-Charging Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Cleans Hard Floors to Medium-Pile Carpets
One of the best things about the Eufy Robotvac 11S is that it cleans remarkably well. On carpets, it very smoothly picked up all the debris from fine debris to pet hair to extra-large debris, and it did about the same on low or high power.
On hard floors the same was true, it did efficiently pick up the debris of all sizes and again with very little difference in low and high power.
Speaking of edge cleaning it was above average, using its two side brushes, it cleared all the debris except for a little bit in the corner, which is typical for round robot vacuums. It’s extremely quiet.
How Do I Choose The Right Vacuum Cleaner?
What type of flooring to be exact. Here are the most common scenarios and our recommendations. Throughout the years, we have learned that people and their vacuum needs fall into one of these categories:
Mostly Bare Floors, No Pet Hair:
Homes with mostly bare floors such as hardwood and tile and maybe a couple of flat or low pile area rugs here and there. If there is pet hair, its not a lot, and a dedicated carpet attachment is not required. You need vacuums to come equipped with a Combination floor tool. That is one tool capable of handling both hard floors and rugs.
Homes with a combination of Bare Floors and Area Rugs. If there is Wall to Wall carpeting, its mostly flat or low pile carpet where a dedicated carpet tool is very handy if not necessary. Models below come equipped with an Air Driven Carpet tool (Turbo Brush), which is perfect for low to medium pile rugs, as well as a bare floor tool.
Mixed Floors, No to Moderate Amount of Pet Hair:
Homes with a combination of Wall to Wall carpets (broadloom), Area Rugs, and Bare Floors. Vacuums in this category come equipped with a dedicated carpet tool (Electric Powerhead) and a separate bare floor tool. There is a moderate amount of pet and human hair.
Homes with thick, soft, high pile Wall to Wall carpets or Area Rugs, and bare floors. Models below come equipped with an “Electric Powerhead” with a height adjustability feature.
Homes with a combination of Wall To Wall Carpets, Area Rugs, Bare Floors, but most importantly, lots and lots of pet hair. In this case, you may find a bagged vacuum cleaner may not be the best option as pet hair tends to fill up the bags very quickly. Hence the model below is a bagless model equipped with an electric powerhead which is perfect for removing pet hair and pet dander from carpets.
